Which insects are controlled by a general pest control spray?

General pest spray is a type of an insecticide that is commonly used in eliminating general pests known as crawlies and creepies. Such common household pests include ants, spiders, moths, cockroaches, carpet beetles, flies and fleas.

Please note that the General Pest Service is not for termite, rodent or severe infestation (these will require specific treatments) but is highly effective for the treatment of mild to medium pest levels: especially when reapplied annually.

General pest sprays are focused on the walls (internal and external), vents, cornices/eaves, and other areas where pests often live, hide, or gain entry to your home. You will get the inside/outside of your home sprayed, a light mist put on the ceiling - this will help with fly control, the roof void dusted and the sheds and fences sprayed.

The most common pests we treat with the general pest spray are ants, flies, spiders and cockroaches. We find that Spring seems to be a time where our clients see more activity from these pests and will book in for their general pest control spray. (It’s why we encourage having a regular annual booking with us).

You may see an increased number of insects after you have your general pest spray. It’s ok. It means it’s working.

The spray is flushing the insects out of their hiding places. Don’t use any other surface sprays. The bugs will be moving over the pest control spray, taking it back to their nests, walking it over webs, and helping to eliminate more pests inside and around your home.

At MD Pest Control we tailor every job to your personal specifications and there are no hidden costs. That means that if you have a particular issue with a shed or in the garage, we can focus there. If a particular insect is giving your grief, we can tailor our treatment to them.

Please note that while our general pest spray is not toxic to humans or pets, we recommend that you avoid sprayed areas until they are dry.
