TIP :  when bringing in clothes & Sheets from the washing line always shake them first before bringing them inside .
Shake Clothes that need washing when picking them up from the Floor and be careful when pulling back blankets to get into bed .

Been getting a lot of Questions about White Tip Spiders and the numbers that have been seen lately .

Thought I might copy a Section of the last Newsletter that was sent out , has some good information in it and will follow it up later  - always a good idea to open the Newsletter , there are good ideas , notes and $$ specials .

BEWARE THE WHITE TIP SPIDER!!!!!

The white tailed spider has a long cigar-shaped, dark grey abdomen with a creamy-white speck on the tip. A large female may reach up to 20mm in body length, males around 12mm.

The white tailed spider is commonly found in homes throughout Australia. It tends to hide in bedding, or within towels or clothes left on the floor and is more active during summer. They are slow moving spiders which wander great distances looking for prey.
White tailed spiders prey on other spiders, and may help to control the population of other venomous spiders. It is an active hunter, stalking the spiders while they are in their own webs. The black house spider in particular is a favorite food item.

I have been receiving many phone calls from new customers who are finding White tailed spiders in their home. If you are finding White tailed spiders you most definitely will have other spiders in the home. A General Pest Spray is your best option for help with controlling spiders which will help to control your White tail problem . The treatment will also help with keeping the White Tip population  under control.

NOTE ;  This why it is very important to remove all the old Spider Webs from outside Two weeks after the Spray has been carried out  . The treatment will wear off old Webs quickly as it is designed to come off organic material and White Tips may think there are still other Spiders present .
Spiders can use old Webs at a later time to get inside and not be killed by the Spray as the treatment will wear off the webs which are left behind very quickly .

More information can be found by Clicking the Spider section on the Website and then Clicking the "Westmead Hostipal" website link .
- Just Click the Spider on the Website and follow the Links . .

Happy Easter from all of us at Jims Pest Control TTG

Picture
Wishing all of our customers a Happy Easter. If you are travelling please make sure you stay safe on the roads.

Easter means chocolate so thought I would post one of my favourite Cheesecake recipes which happens to use Toblerone Chocolate.

You will need;
  • Base
  • 1 cup plain chocolate biscuit crumbs
  • 80g melted butter
  • 1/4 cup ground almonds
  • Filling
  • 500g block Philadelphia Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup caster sugar
  • 200g Toblerone Milk or Dark, Chocolate, melted
  • 1/2 cup thickened cream
  • Topping
  • 200g Milk or Dark Chocolate for shaving

Combine biscuit crumbs, butter and almonds, press into the base of a lightly greased 20cm springform pan. Chill.

Beat Philly and sugar using an electric mixer until smooth. Beat in the melted Toblerone and cream until well combined.

Pour onto the prepared crumb base and refrigerate 2 to 3 hours until set, or overnight. Serve topped with the Toblerone shavings and whipped cream on the side.

Enjoy!!!
