A Post from Tammy for all the Girls

So I was watching Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares last night and the restaurant he was helping had Meatloaf as one of their menu choices, which looked disgusting!! I mentioned to Michael that my meatloaf looked so much better and he agreed, so thought I might share it on the blog for all of our female customers,  for something a bit different.
This recipe goes back to my High School days some .. years ago, too scary to actually put in print!! It is super easy to prepare and very versatile. We have it as Meatloaf with vegies, then the leftovers make beautiful burgers or it is great to roll into patties and cook on the BBQ, so here goes.......

500gm Beef Mince
500gm Sausage Mince
2 cups grated tasty cheese, reserve a little to sprinkle over the top
1 packet Salt reduced French Onion Soup
1 can Light Evaporative Milk
half a cup of Panko breadcrumbs, plus some to sprinkle on top

Mix all ingredients together and put into a greased baking dish, sprinkle with breadcrumbs and cheese and bake at 180 degrees for approximately 1 hour or until cooked through.

Hope you all enjoy!!!

I HAVE JUST HAD MY GENERAL PEST SPRAY AND NOW IT'S RAINING , IS THIS BAD ?

As I sit home home doing boring paperwork having a cup of coffee after having to cancel my day of General Pest sprays because of the rain , I thought it might be a good time to explain a little more about the spray and the Rain .

The general Pest Spray mix that I use handles the Heat and Rain that our harsh Australian Summer throws at it and the Cold Winters really well.
It has to be very Mammal safe and have a long lifespan.
I will give 3 Months outside warranty and 6 Months inside warranty but you should get 9 Months from the First spray and then 12 months from then on .

Sometimes though it Rains or looks like Rain when your booking is due  and this can cause a problem with bookings .

Being a water based product the treatment cannot be be done when there is steady Rain present or heavy Rain likely in the first Two hours from when the spray was  applied .
After Two hours it will bond very well to Bricks , Wood , Paths etc.

Another reason why it cannot be used in the Rain is because the ingredients in Termite or General Pest's sprays cannot be be washed into the sewer system as it will hurt Fish as well as Insects .

A few sprinkles of rain won't hurt the spray  , in fact , on very hot days I might even wet the home before I spray it to cool it down .
After it has been applied it really needs a very heavy downpour before it will affect the treatment , a little rain won't affect it .

As always though if you get a General Pest / Spider Spray carried out and you are still seeing activity after Two weeks  I am only a phone call away and will gladly come out and have a look .

P.S - Looking out the window and the Sun is now shining , sorry I cancelled guys ....

SO YOU HAVE FOUND TERMITES  ,  NOW WHAT ??

The first thing to do is  NOT TO PANIC AND DO NOTHING .

It can be very Emotional and frightening when we decide to do a bit of spring cleaning in the shed or a back room , move some boxes or something around and find that piece of eaten skirting board or Termites ( white Ants) in some boxes .
The natural instinct is to Spray them with some Fly spray , Pour hot water over them or go to the local hardware shop and buy something .
This is a mistake as this will often scare them away and make it hard to find a feed point in which to start treating them .
Moving old furniture or the old post in the backyard may even make them move towards your home as they will need to find a new food source .

A Spot treatment , fixing the current problem , can be a inexpensive option if a full Termite management system is not wanted .
When Termites are disturbed this can make treating them all that slower and more difficult as a new feeding point has to be found .
Spot treatments usually require putting a Bait Box in place , Dusting or Foaming the problem areas .
All Spot treatment  fixes require the using of Non Repellent Termiticides  - This is important as the Termites don't know these are here and will happily work around them , in the process transferring  the active back through the nest .

Just about everything you buy from your local hardware shop uses a Repellent active , this means that it will kill the Termites it comes into contact with but the Termites will stay away from it and won't transfer it back to other Termites .
Repellent Termiticides have there place but not in this sititution.
