Pest control Adelaide - Mice

In March a NSW based friend posted photos of a mice plague, it was eye opening. With warmer weather in Adelaide continuing through March people are looking for ways to control mice in and around their homes.

Mice are big breeders, having up to 12 pups in a litter, that’s a lot of mouths to feed! They’re also great chewers and will gnaw through all manner of things to find shelter and food. All that chewing means what goes in has to come out and that means droppings in the ceiling space, kitchen, and anywhere there’s food or shelter.

While mice might look cute, they carry other pests and diseases into your home spreading them to your pets and family. If you run a food facility, a restaurant, café, or bake from home, having mice around can see you losing your license.

The best way to control mice in Adelaide

The most efficient way to control mice is using a bait trap. While some people will want to catch and release the mice, unless you stop them coming back inside you are set for a continuous loop of trying to trap them.

A bait trap is a proven pest control method which is secure and non-toxic to our family, pets, and native animals.

Mice roam between 3 and 10 metres and that is the interval we place baits around and inside a building. What you might find is that some bait traps are more active, don’t be tempted to move the other traps as they form a barrier protecting your building.

When mice are in greater numbers, you might find that the pest controller will have to come out and rebait the
trap more often, for a while. This will gradually slow down as the mice are trapped and controlled.

If you find that mice are a regular pest around your home, it’s a good idea to get them under control before the weather cools and they really set up home inside your house. Contact MD Pest Control to book a time to deal with the mice in your Adelaide home.
